June Business Meeting

The highlight reel.

June Business Meeting

Our June meeting marks a turning point for LPWC, as we are rolling out a new way of interacting with our community. While LPWC of course will continue to operate as a political party, and will have plenty to say next year during the campaign season about the issues and candidates of the day, in the meantime we want to focus on building our community, and may end up looking more like a volunteer service organization than a political party.

To that end, we're switching from monthly business meetings to quarterly business meetings, and adding quarterly presentation/discussion meetings and quarterly volunteer service projects, both of which will include a social component before and/or after the main event. So each calendar quarter will start with an educational meeting, featuring a speaker presenting information on a timely topic of interest to Texans, followed by a discussion (and preceded by a happy half-hour or so of socializing). The second month of each quarter we'll sponsor a volunteer activity and some kind of after party, and the third month will be our regular business meeting.

Per our existing schedule, presentation meetings and business meetings will continue to gather at Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant on the second Monday of the month, from 6:30 to 8:30p. The service projects will be scheduled ad hoc for a Saturday some time during the second month of the quarter.

We wrap all this up and put a bow on it with the tagline "Educate, Demonstrate, Motivate", as seen on the home page of this site. Our ambition is to bring value to the local communities of Washington County; we hope you'll join us!
